[Press release] Celebrating cybersecurity excellence: Swiss CISO Awards 2024 winners unveiled

The Swiss Cyber Institute is proud to announce the winners of the Swiss CISO Awards 2024, recognizing exceptional achievements in cybersecurity leadership and innovation. Taking place for the second consecutive year, the highly anticipated Swiss CISO Awards Ceremony was held at the prestigious AURA in Zurich as an integral part of the Global Cyber Conference.

Presented by auditing and consulting firm EY in Switzerland and Swiss Cyber Institute, the awards celebrate outstanding contributions to securing the digital landscape while inspiring the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.

This year’s winners, who exemplify excellence and innovation, are:

  • Swiss CISO of the Year: Tana Dubel, CISO at Logitec
    Tana Dubel has transformed Logitech’s cybersecurity landscape by implementing a zero-trust strategy that enhances security while supporting the company’s digital innovation goals. Her leadership aligns cybersecurity initiatives with Logitech’s broader purpose, fostering a secure and sustainable digital workplace. Tana’s commitment to talent development and diversity has significantly increased female representation in her team, with women now comprising 28% of the workforce and 43% of leadership roles. Her robust risk management framework, recognized with ISO 27001 certification and an “A” security rating from RiskRecon, exemplifies her dedication to excellence and resilience in cybersecurity.
  • Cybersecurity Excellence: Mostafa Hassanin, Group CISO at SMG Swiss Marketplace Group
    Mostafa Hassanin has redefined SMG’s security with a zero-trust, passwordless architecture and innovative solutions like Adaptive Push MFA, reducing fraud and enhancing user trust. His risk-based approach and focus on fostering a security culture have set new standards for resilience and excellence in the e-commerce sector.
  • CISO for Digitalisation: Michael Ruppe, CISO at Adcubum
    Michael Ruppe has seamlessly integrated cybersecurity into Adcubum’s digital transformation, leading the secure deployment of an in-house GenAI chatbot and implementing AI-driven security automation. He has enhanced cloud security through targeted training, bootcamps, and advanced frameworks, while fostering collaboration across teams to align cybersecurity with business goals. His initiatives, including a cybersecurity escape room, highlight his innovative approach to promoting awareness and resilience in a digital-first environment.
  • Future Leader: Daniel Seiler, Head of Platform Services at the National Cyber Security Centre Switzerland
    Daniel Seiler is driving innovation in cybersecurity through projects like the Cyber Security Hub, designed to protect critical infrastructure. With a unique blend of technical, legal, and operational expertise, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision. Daniel’s collaborative approach and proactive risk management have significantly advanced digital security practices, positioning him as a rising star in the cybersecurity field.

Championing Diversity in Cybersecurity Leadership

While this year saw outstanding achievements across multiple categories, we regretfully announce that there were no applications for the Swiss CISO for Diversity award. The Swiss Cyber Institute and the Global Cyber Conference remain steadfast in their dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion within the cybersecurity field.
