The organizers of the Swiss CISO Awards have announced the finalists for this year’s awards. A total of 15 individuals are competing for the three awards: Swiss CISO of the Year, Swiss CISO for Digitization, and Future Leader.

Swiss Cyber Institute will again organize the Global Cyber Conference on November 26 and 27. The conference will also include the presentation of this year’s Swiss CISO Awards. According to the organizer’s website, 15 finalists are competing for the three awards that will be presented this year. Two individuals have been nominated in two categories.
Swiss CISO of the Year is the main prize of the event. The award recognizes outstanding achievements in the fields of ICT and cybersecurity—both within the nominees’ own companies and in general. The nominees are:
- Alexandre Horvath, CISO & DPO of Cryptix
- Eduardo Geraldi, CISO of Spie Switzerland
- Gianclaudio Moresi, Corporate CISO of the Forbo Group
- Marc Uldry, CISO of IMD
- Michael Ruppe, CISO of Adcubum
- Mostafa Hassanin, Group CISO of SMG Swiss Marketplace Group
- Olivier Martinet, Group CISO of the TX Group
- Tana Dubel, CISO of Logitech
By the way, Tana Dubel already received a Cybersecurity Excellence Award last year in the Swiss CISO of the Year category. The Swiss CISO for Digitization award is intended for the person who has significantly influenced their company’s digitalization strategy and mindset. This year’s finalists are:
- Alexandre Horvath, CISO & DPO of Cryptix
- Juan Carlos Lopez Ruggiero, Head of IT-Security at Enotrac
- Marco Wyrsch, Head of Group Security / Chief Security Officer of Swisscom
- Michael Ruppe, CISO of Adcubum
Last year, André Mäder won this award. At the time, he was still CISO of KKJPD / HIS / Justitia 4.0—he has since moved to Infoguard. In an interview about the awards, he talks about how digitalization and cybersecurity go hand in hand.
The Future Leader award, according to the organizers, is intended to recognize “a talent with innovative thinking and great potential.” A person from the organizers believes “will make a significant contribution in the near future.” Competing for this award are:
- Christian Hager, Security Architect at Swisscom
- Damiano Esposito, Head of Security Operations at the Migros Cooperative Federation
- Daniel Seiler, Head of Platform Services at the NCSC
- Florian Nyffenegger, Head of Digital Transformation for the City of Baden
- Nemanja Mitic, Head of Cyber Governance at UBS
In 2023, this award went to Michael Schlüter, CISO of Swica. In an interview, he talks about future plans, cyber resilience, and the significance of these awards for the industry.
According to the website, there were no applicants for the CISO for Diversity category. This award also found no recipient at the 2023 premiere.

The Swiss CISO Awards will be presented on November 26 at the Aura in Zurich by EY and the Swiss Cyber Institute. This year’s award jury consists of:
- Clara-Ann Gordon, Board Member and Partner at Niederer Kraft Frey
- Öykü Isık, Professor of Digital Strategy and Cybersecurity at IMD
- Alina Matyukhina, CSO and Global Head of Cybersecurity at Siemens SI BP
- Tom Schmidt, Cybersecurity Leader in the financial sector at EY Switzerland
- Steve Ramsden, CISO and Digital Innovation/Architect at the Global Fund
- Marcel Zumbühl, Swiss CISO of the Year 2023
